Biography
Dr. Bourke Tillmann received his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2010, and subsequently completed his emergency medicine residency and adult critical care fellowship. Following his fellowship training, Dr. Tillmann completed his PhD in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Toronto’s Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation. In addition to his position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, he is Clinician Scientist at the University Health Network and an Associate Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute. In his clinical practice, Dr. Tillmann is an attending intensive care physician at Toronto Western Hospital, a burn intensivist at the Ross Tilley Burn Centre, and a Trauma Team Leader at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
Dr. Tillmann’s research program focuses on equity in access to critical care. His work aims to optimize short- and long-term outcomes among critically ill adults, as well as develop interventions to improve outcomes after acute brain injury
