Maggie Ho

Social Worker, Toronto Western Hospital

Maggie Ho is a social worker of the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Rheumatology in-patients on 4B at Toronto Western Hospital. She has worked at TWH since 2001. Maggie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Baruch College, City University of New York, a Bachelor of Social Work from McGill University, and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto. Maggie was previously the Education Coordinator for social work students having their practicum at TGH, PMH and TWH. Maggie has been an active member of the Mentoring Program at the University of Toronto for Year 2 social work students who are about to enter the workforce. Maggie has also participated in numerous IPE events and has been a structured IPE facilitator for U of T students. She has completed the EHPIC – Educating Health Professionals for Inter-professional Care – and received a certificate for health professionals, educators and leaders in the field. Her expertise lies in discharge planning, crisis intervention, comprehensive psycho-social assessment, anticipatory grief and bereavement, and trauma work. Maggie uses solution-focused, cognitive behaviour therapy and strength-based counselling models.
