Bio

Dr. Alyssa Louis completed her undergraduate studies at McGill university in Honours Physiology, followed by medical school at Queen’s University. She completed her post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and Critical Care at the University of Toronto, including a year as Chief Medical Resident at Mount Sinai Hospital. Her academic work focuses on medical education and clinical teaching with special interests in curriculum development and simulation education for resuscitation and procedural skills.

Dr. Louis joined as a clinical teacher in 2025, and she has led several large scale hospital-based and university-wide simulation initiatives. She has completed a Masters in Medical Education through the University of Dundee. She is passionate about teaching learners from diverse training backgrounds how to resuscitate acutely deteriorating patients. Her current focus is on the use of simulation during transitions of training and the use of simulation for rapid training and optimization of safety protocols.
