Shaima Sawan

Dr. Sawan was born and raised in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Inspired by her older siblings, she followed the same path and graduated from the College of Medicine at King Saud University in 2012 and completed a year of internship at King Khalid University Hospital. She then joined the emergency medicine residency program at King Fahad Medical City from October 2013 until September 2017. She chose to pursue a career in critical care, joining the Critical Care Department at King Fahad Medical City where she was elected as chief fellow. After visiting Toronto in 2018 for an elective at UHN, she decided to come back for more!
