Bio
Dr. David McAlpine grew up in Johannesburg before moving to Cape Town to study medicine. He developed an early affiliation for acute care medicine and, after internship, spent a year doing emergency medicine in the slightly dubious city of Ladysmith in KwaZulu-Natal. He spent a full year traveling on public transport from Casablanca back to Joburg before moving to London and spending four years in the many A&Es there. Dr. McAlpine returned to Cape Town to complete training in emergency medicine and earn an MMed. With restless feet, he sought a new adventure with his family which brought him to Toronto to focus on critical care.
After completing the UHN-SHS Critical Care Fellowship, Dr. McAlpine moved on to a staff position at Sinai Health System.
