Dr. Popa was born in Timisoara, Romania. She started the courses of “Victor Babes” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in October 2005, and was awarded with a Medical Degree diploma in September 2011. After successfully completing the exit exam from medical school, she chose Anesthesia and Intensive care as her specialty.
She started her postgraduate training in her hometown, Timisoara, at the County Emergency Clinical Hospital of Timisoara, in the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Clinic, in January 2012. Part of her training was completed in Ireland, in Mayo University Hospital.
In January 2017, upon successful completion of her Specialist exam in Romania, she was awarded the Specialist Diploma in Anesthesia and Intensive Care. She then decided to return to Ireland, to work in the same hospital that she was in previously. During this time she was given the opportunity to work as a consultant at this hospital, which she accepted without hesitation.
